The first lumber package arrives today and Mike McGaugh and his crew will begin the interior construction. The estimated completion date is 4-6 weeks with the holidays in the mix. Please be praying for the crews safety and God's continued blessings on this project.

It is exciting to begin the inside phase of our building project. The building team will meet Tuesday the 22nd to make decisions with regard to bids on the framing.
It has been difficult to be on hold the past couple months but we know God has his plan for this building project and we can trust his timing.
How fast this project continues is dependent on God, finances, and volunteer labor. Every time a volunteer shows up for a work party we move forward faster and have more money for materials. We can all do our part and be blessed through our service.
Thank you for your support and please continue to pray for God's guidance and timing.

Kaufman Bros are now done with their part of putting up the steel shell. They did a great job and now the rest is up to us. Sidewalks and parking lot work should be underway soon.

Great News! All the paperwork is turned in for the building permit and it looks like we'll receive that soon and start the foundation work right after the holidays. GOD'S PERFECT TIMING

It may seem that God has taken us in circles, or over the river and through the woods, but his sovereign hand has been revealed. Finding and using a new architect for the end purpose of constructing the entire building ourselves has proved to be a closed door. However, If we had not followed God as we were moved, we would not be here today.

We have now been able to renegotiate with Kaufman Bro. for a decrease of 30,000 dollars which puts us at the same cost level of building the foundation and shell ourselves. It does take time to get the ball rolling again, but we are moving ahead. How fast we move will be determined by the money God provides for the project. We are hoping to begin the foundation and shell before the Holidays but we are now dealing with weather.

It is exciting to see God's Perfect Timing as we find ourselves in a place where everyone we work with are willing to renegotiate price and cost of materials and labor.

Please continue to pray for our continued obedience to God's guiding hand.

Site work continues. The sidewalk along Hawks Prairie Rd. is now poured. More grading is done in preparation for the parking lot. Pray that the engineering paperwork will be done soon and we can get a foundation permit.

If you've driven by the property lately you've seen that site work is going full speed ahead. We're in process of finalizing drawings and plans so that the building construction can start in the coming weeks. Pray for the architectural drawings to be finished and our foundation permit to be granted soon. Thank you.

Greetings,

We have discontinued our search for a warehouse type building. Permits and codes would make that kind of move unrealistic. We are still looking for an office with enough room for meetings.

The road improvements on Hawks Prairie will begin shortly and we are praying about how far forward we should go. What a blessing it is to step forward in faith. Be praying that God opens the doors he would like us to step through and that He continues to close the doors that are not His will.

I am praying that God will provide the funds for finishing the project and allow us to move right in. I am praying that He continues to bless our work and service at TPC as we lift up His name and give Him all the Glory.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty.

We are currently looking for a building to lease (and may have one?) while we prayerfully wait upon the Lord to provide the funds needed to continue the building project.

The civil drawings are being revised in order that we can save money on importing fill dirt. We will then go ahead with the road frontage improvements and stub in utilities and finish most the grading.

Let us continue to praise God for His guidance and keep our focus on serving His Church, each other, and the community.

Be praying for that person who does not know our Lord Jesus Christ and invite them to Easter service.

Greetings,

We are currently waiting for City Approval of the Revised Civil Drawings. They were completed and turned in for review before the Holiday and I just received a request from the city to meet with them and the engineer next week @Wednesday.
The architectural changes to the building will be complete next week and I hope to take those to the meeting as well.
I will give a brief report this Sunday on building finances and projections. Please continue to pray for God's will and direction as we carefully and prayerfully move forward.

How Exciting!

Well, since the removal of the dirt we have been waiting for revisions on the civil plans in hopes of eliminating the need for bringing the lot back to the original grade. This keeps the cost at around 75k instead of 200k. That includes the removal of undocumented soil, compaction, soil testing and civil revisions.
The plans have been completed and we are getting ready to resubmit to the city. We had to make changes to the building in order to avoid a fire code which would have been costly.

The building structure cost came back this week with an increase due to rising prices this last year. This is in spite of the fact that the changes to the building should have decreased the cost. However, since I resubmitted the building plans 2 weeks ago the cost has decreased by 8%. The cost for the building is now at 325,000 for the shell. I believe the cost for building packages will continue to drop but truly only God knows.

We are still going to be short financially for the completion of the project. I will be sharing more about the finances and projected costs as more information becomes available.

This is a time to be truly excited about what God can do through faithful servants, difficult circumstances, and the unforeseen challenges and blessings this coming year will bring.

Bye Bye Dirt!

The testing for the soil came back favorable and the undocumented soil has been removed (2900 yards).
We have brought in 1000 yards of granular fill and I am hoping to keep it at that. At the same time this last week I have worked with the architect and city regarding an oversight in the fire code. This was overlooked by both the city and architect ( go figure ). Any building taller than 30 ft. must comply with a code that requires a fire lane large enough to accommodate the aerial apparatus. ( fire truck ladder ).
To accomplish this by changing the parking lot would be very expensive and a waste of lot. We believe we were able to make the changes in the building by decreasing the pitch of the roof and the height of the walls. This of course requires some changes through out the building but not real noticeable or extreme.
We are waiting on the numbers from the building manufacturer and of course those were supposed to be going up but with the changes there should be a decrease in price.
Please be praying for God's guidance and the needed finances as we will have some tough decisions to make regarding our completion time line based on the needed finances. What a blessing to be serving our Lord and Savior.

As I reported last Sunday we ran into some problems with the pile of soil that needs to be removed. It tested positive for diesel. We have contracted with an expert in environmental soil testing and they performed the multiple tests on the site yesterday.

I met with everyone involved today and have some good news to report. The multiple tests came back negative for contaminants and we are now able export the soil.

What an experience to deal with so much adversity over something as simple as dirt. God has been gracious and we need to praise Him for this exciting opportunity.
I am waiting for new numbers and will post as soon as I have some news.

God's Dirt Don't Hurt

We count it a blessing to have yet another challenge. We have run into more undocumented fill than we originally anticipated. The cost estimate was $200,000.00. This is not possible with our budget. So I thank you all for your prayers. God is the only who will be glorified through this project. It will not be possible for us to give any credit to our works as it is only God who can make this happen.
I am working with the civil engineers, city, and contractor to get this cost down. We do have good news with regard to our plumber as he has brought those costs down significantly. Please take the time to thank God for the opportunity to be a part of HIS building project.

Ground has been broken! How exciting to see progress with this project. The contractor is optimistic and the weather continues to cooperate. This first phase is erosion control. Next will be dirt preparation and grading. Please continue to pray for God's will and guidance to be our priority.

Here we Go!

The city inspector has given us the go ahead. After meeting with the contractor, special inspector, and geotech we have decided to begin on Monday. We will be using extreme erosion control methods which will include a catch basin on the site to hold water until Dept. of Ecology grants permit to release into the storm water basin. On monday the silt fencing and orange construction fencing will be going in.

The first of the major work will be re-working the soil as per the geo-tech requirements. Unfortunately at this time of year there are more strict guidelines concerning the dirt work and erosion control. This is very good for the environment and community but does require more work and money.

I received the revised bid from Scott's excavating and it has increased by @60,ooo at the worst case scenerio and that is with a contingency included. We hope to save some money by getting some soil from other projects.

George at Scott's has worked very hard to keep costs down and has even lowered some of the sub bids which is helpfull.

Please continue to pray we follow God's will for us and trust in Him to provide for the completion of the project.

Pre-Construction

We are now waiting for a pre-construction conference with the city. As soon as Bill O. the senior building inspector gives us a conference time we can go forward with construction.
The contractor is ready to work so I am praying we can start this week. Pray that God will provide the needed funds to finish the project and continue to guide us according to His will.

Good News,
We have received the Geo tech Reports and have been granted the grading permit. The site contractor is moving forward and hopes to begin work on the property within a week. I have not yet received a new bid on the changes made by the city or the added work to the soil required by the Geo reports. I will continue to post info as I receive it.

After meeting with the Geotech we have determined extra dirt compaction will be required. We are not certain as to the cost until the reports are finished. Good news is our contractor is anxious to start and has ordered the locates to prepare for digging. We are only waiting for the geotech reports and then the city will grant the grading permit. We are also applying for a foundation only permit that will allow for simultaneous grading and constructing of foundation. Continue to pray for God's will and guidance as we look forward to fund raising for the completion of the project.
